Gyruss Description:

The purpose of this game is to fly through the solar system and reach Earth. The other planets that have you travel to before Earth are Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars. It only takes two warps to arrive at Neptune, but all others including Earth take three warps to get to. Each time you reach a planet, there is a Challenge Stage where you try to destroy as many enemies as possible. After reaching Earth, there is a Challenge Stage followed by a very fast "three warps to Neptune" stage. After this, the levels and the background music start over. Excellent synthesizer music score of Bach's "Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor".

Gyruss comp runs until 7pm Monday March 15th (Aust Eastern Time - daylight saving)

This is a PB I think for me as I had no idea what was going on getting near Jupiter and that challenging stage completely threw me. A classic game though this one I like it though don't think I'll be a contender.

Only three scores by Sunday - where's all the Gyruss fans ?

Thinking about changing something slightly from next game onwards, for game nominations.

Taking a leaf out of another league I have seen online (the quite enormous 'Retroleague', 30+ players every game), if a game comes up nominated by someone who hasn't submitted a score in the previous week's game, then that game doesn't get played. The die are rolled again until a game comes up that's been nominated by one of the previous week's actual participants.

I reckon that's a fair system and encourages playing, and we don't end up playing games nominated by people who aren't actually participating in the tournament.

So get those scores in while you can, if'n you want your games a chance of coming up!
